Q: WHAT IS PIESCENTRAL USED FOR?
PIESCentral maintains a central repository of product information updated from sources througout your organization and uses that repository to create customer-specific outputs for your trading partners.
Q: IS PIESCENTRAL A PIM (PRODUCT INFORMATION MANAGER)?
An Enterprise PIM is the gatekeeper for all product information in an organization and handles syncronization across all systems using that data. In this sense, PIESCentral is not a PIM because it does not become the source of the information. It uses a read-only architecture to collect and publish information. The benefit is that it is less intrusive, less expensive and much faster to implement.
Q: DO WE NEED A SEPARATE DATABASE SERVER?
PIESCentral uses Microsoft SQL Server for its data repository, but will also work with a free version called Microsoft SQL Express.
Q: HOW DOES PRICING WORK?
We have two versions of the product, Express and Enterprise, with each of these priced by the number of physical part numbers you have.
